I know its an old wives tale, but the sky here in Ardee, Co. Louth is bright red as the sun is setting. There are a few dark looking clouds, but I really am not convinced we're going to get the pasting of snow ye are all talking about.

Of course, you must bear in mind that I know absolutely nothing about weather forecasting.
LoL embee let us know tomorrow morning whats happening up your direction.
You're reasonably near NI and the local forecast for there tomorrow is for snow from the weatherfront.

It wasn't really that cold today, at least it didnt feel it, but all of a sudden the temperature appears to have dropped a good bit. I went to the shop there, and it would sting the face of ya.

I have to work til 10pm tomorrow in Dundalk... Am I gonna have problems getting home?!

Being stranded in Dundalk just doesnt appeal to me at all.

Was a balmy 8.5C today (my part of Laois), but temps have been steadily dropping since about 4pm. Now down to 3C. Still, hard to believe there's snow on the way.

Was outside, nice halo around the moon, 2.3c and dark cloud to the NW over west Offaly (reflected in the fading twilight)

    Game On!

The chart you posted @ 1844z Weathercheck shows nice "lumping" effect in the warm front which means high-altitude CBs embedded in it, nice for heavier bursts...

5.4c was the max here in Durrow, then again, cold air sinks and we are in a valley.

but 8.5c seems very high, Portlaoise NRA got 6.3c at best...

Maybe a fohn effect in Mountrath from the Slieve Blooms in the NW wind? There was a nice amount of sunshine between the large cloud plates, I noticed up to 1c changes between sunshine and cloud spell.

Its 7:20pm clear skies in Dublin. Go out and look at the moon for a fairly uncommon sight. A moon halo is visible.

    Example

Its must be very cold up there.

    @ DARWIN

What kinda station do you have? What does it measure? Where did you get it and how much €

No real significance. Its a bit like when you can see a second rainbow when one is particularly vivid. The second ring is light refracting at another angle while the main is at 22 degrees.
