Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Does the city loss mean they play GW1 as per normal anyone know ? Might simplify things a bit if you are willing to take part in Pep roulette.

The authorities said teams need a minimum of 30 days rest.

The thing is, if City's game were to be rearranged for Monday of GW1 that would be bang on 30 days.

They’d be out by a couple of hours because I'm thinking it’s from when their last game finishes.

Who knows though, we'll just have to wait and see I guess.

Finding it very expensive this year! (I say this every year though :pac:) Seems to be very few "Cheap" options up front and in defence to enable the weighty mids.

Not looking like I'll fit Mane or Salah in anyway :-/

Yeah true. If it was a fundraiser I would imagine they would commend the person on raising money but also maybe give a reminder its not allowed. If someone did pull something that be a bit of prick move.

FPL Twitter has gone into overdrive, the amount of posts being retweeted about “this is my strategy when picking a team...” followed by a copy and paste of what some other nobody posted last week

If only there was some way I could just stop reading them

Those 'threads' posted by lads with FPL and then some form of animal or profession at the end of their name are the absolute worst. So much nonsense.

It is why I love here so much more. Nobody is itching for followers or to become the next FPL 'celeb' so they just have normal conversations with their thoughts.

There really is an epic number of shills about. Twitter FPL has jumped the shark it seems.

You can mute certain words on twitter and keep following the people if that helps somewhat

Social media and follower count as a metric for relevance is an awful thing when it comes to having a worthwhile discussion.

So much more emphasis on saying something rather than saying something interesting.

It really is all about 'Volume & Banter'

When myself and Paddy only posted about OddsOnFPL on the twitter page every post was relating to odds etc and talking about the team. I think the follower count was probably 1k-1.5K.

Last year we didn't really do it seriously but still had a team based on odds but no articles/reasoning etc. More 'banter' posts and the followers is now at 3.5K.

Personally hate FPL twitter for the amount of moaning.

Who are ye thinking will have to be in yer team GW1?
Obviously so long as they don’t have Liverpool, city, Chelsea, Arsenal first up

    For me

    McCarthy - easy choice
    TAA - Obvs
Viagrne- If he’s starting then it’s a very cheap way into wolves defence
Werner - he’s such good value

That's a definite hard no. It was very time consuming. There are some tweets where we post stats etc, but underneath all the banter etc so I wouldn't recommend it.

What I'll try and do this season is post the thread where we discuss stats or I'll copy paste them in here.

Just never want to seem like it's self promotion.

For what it's worth the team has been up for two years and this is the standings:

    18/19: 16,729
    19/20: 28,417

The season just gone should be 25K or lower, someone hacked our account and changed the captaincy from Aubameyang to a Wolves defender and Aubameyang got a brace and 3 bps!

Don't think so personally. You'd have an indication closer to the match day but Week in week out TAA/Robbo start. That guy probably plays FA cup and if they have an easy CL fixture etc.

Wouldn't be worried early in the season anyway

Signings under Klopp generally have a bedding in period, before they are considered for selection.

I'd imagine it will be closer to Christmas time before he is a serious selection possibility in the league, injuries aside.

The fact he mentions TAA/Robbo can this fella play both RB & LB?

Or is it just referring to Gomez covering RB when needed?

I'd imagine it's Williams more than Gomez at RB.There are only 3 senior CBs at the club now, so Gomez should be treated as a CB only really. That said, I can see Gomez or Milner starting at RB away at a top 6 club for example if TAA is injured because of their experience.

Is there a way to check league details of leagues you entered last season? I entered a money league and still haven't been paid, and the amount he's saying he will pay out (once he gets the money for next year ) is one entry less than I have on my records.

    (Not a Boards league FYI)

I’ve figured out it’s FPL Elite who is poisoning my timeline so he’s been unfollowed

But before he went he gave me FPL Skipper (C), Who in fairness in his bio says he’s not an FPL expert but it also says “OR 6635 (GW33)” doesn’t say the year he hit these heady heights.

His 20 page post this morning is about players to avoid in each club, goes along the lines of this

“Ayew for 6.0m also doesn’t score enough goals for me and I won’t go near him any time soon”

Amazing that we lives in times where we get this type of deep insight for free! FPL Twitter is the gift that never stops giving! Really does seem like all you need these days to feel like you're worth listening too is one decent weekly score. It's funny looking at the discussion here not so long ago with so many people having great finishes while also saying yeah I don't have a clue whereas these people think their experts.

FPL is definitely one of those games where a little knowledge can make you think you have it sussed but a little bit more makes you realise you don't.

I've just noticed that DCL is 7.0M this year. What a joke.

Antonio / Haller a much better option.

With Haller back are people leaning towards him? Antonio drifts out to the wing when he plays up top if I remember correctly?

Haller was fit for most of Antonio's goal spree. As long as he's scoring he starts.

I’m not seeing a Trent and Robbo (only 10% owned so far) double up in many draft teams.

For 14.5 mil and both getting almost a combined 400 points last season does this not seem an obvious choice with all of us paying top price for premium mids who just about break the 200 point mark alone? Or 230/250 when a premium mid has a good season.

I think there might be times like in previous seasons when you would like to have Salah and Mane playing in the same gameweek. At the moment because of the lack of cheap goalkeeper options I am thinking of going Alisson, TAA, Salah or Mane as my 3 Liverpool.

I didn't think that was the case. He was only back from Injury and was coming off the bench. I don't think he was match fit at all?

    Open to correction on that

I see Alison got 122 points last season but I know he missed a chunk of the season (maybe 10 gws?)
Do you think he would get near Popes 170 last season if he plays 38 games? I can’t see him getting as much save or bonus points

I’ve considered the TAA and Robbo double up, along with Aurier, who I will definitely have

BUT if there are two 4.0 playing defenders, plus Vinagre at 4.5m then it’s hard to justify splashing extra cash anywhere on your defence

He got 176 the year before. You could argue that Adrian was responsible for Liverpool not keeping clean sheets when Alisson was injured.
