    Do you be passive aggressive and pretend to smile, while you're annoyed that they didn't listen to you, or got you something that shows that they poorly understand who you are.

    Or do you say it to them there and then?

    Who cares about presents? All I wanted for Christmas was a hug. I got that and I am happy.

    Material things mean nothing to me whatsoever.
