Is made Illegal. Why you might ask. Just look at all the climate change protests all around the World today and I think you might know why.

Smoking be it the Nicotine or electronic one's all pollute and feck only know what is coming out of some of them. Whatever it is its never good not for us and not for the World. Then there is all the littering from cigarette butts as well. Smokers seem to think ah sure someone else will clean it up. For once I would love to hear of someone fined for throwing one on the ground. I mean how hard is it to put it into the bin or cigarette tray. I know some people say they use it to help with stress but surely there is a better way to do that than poisoning your body with tar and all the other bad stuff in them. You are only delaying the inevitable if you need a cigarette for that because it will eventually lead to cancer or limbs having to be cut off. Not nice. So lets end cigarettes for ever.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I've read this line 3 times and I still don't know why.

What? Smoking is causing global warming, is that it?

Smoking is on such a rapid decline at the moment you would be mad to try such draconian measures.

Only rough looking builders smoke now, and tesco delivery men.

When you see this kind of post it's like 'I don't wanna be seen to be one of those climate eejits!' Say credible things and you'll get through to people

    What an excellent idea.

And after, we can have our secret police force all women of fertile age in to child-bearing slavery! What a perfect world we will make! I'm with you all the way on this one AMKC:D

I really wish I could quit smoking. :(

Oh wait I just remembered I have never smoked! Phew! That is a load off my mind!

Should make it “prescription” before making it illegal. Anyone over 18 at a certain date can apply for one.

    The tide is turning…

Next you'll be saying all diesel/petrol cars should be banned
How do e-cigs cause climate change. Me goes to ponder on this

Yeah. Smoking is no longer popularized by famous people and almost no famous people smoke anymore.

Not only that, they're seriously expensive too. Which makes me wonder how much are those Tesco delivery men getting paid? :D Must be a stressful job...

Having said this, I do see quite a lot of kids (like 17-20) smoking still.

The kids are the problem. Rebellious streak equals the next generation of smokers.

First they came for the socialists...

I was right with you until you mentioned E-Cig's and then went on a tirade against actual cigarettes with no more coverage of E-Cigs.

Yes, ban smoking. For the climate. To change it, or something.
And ban the pill. For the environment. So we dont have to drink all the pissed out hormones and gradually sterilise the species.
And ban plastic drinking bottles. For the planet. So we dont have to eat all the microscopic bits of plastic.
And ban clothes. For equality. So we dont have to participate in the global slave economy where poor people make them for us.
And ban bananas. (That could be our slogan.) For the pollution. So the banana pluckers dont have to be soaked in herbicide.
And ban phones. For the earth. So the people mining the ores dont have to live miserable short existences.
And ban cars. For lessening the noxious fumes. And so we dont have to deal with murderous theocratic dictators.

    Hmmmmm.

I think the kids are giving up a lot faster than they were years ago. Many kids go through the smoking phase but far fewer are graduating to become full-time long-term smokers in their 20's to 30's... Mainly due to the cost.

I disagree with the OP. Making smoking illegal is dumb, dumb, dumb. I don't think I need to spell out *why*.

Let’s lose all the revenue from smoking to save the environment!!!

Because banning the likes of cannabis, cocaine, heroin, etc has been such a massive success.

I know it's ridiculous isn't it? I can't even buy a bag of scag in my local shop anymore.

Making smoking illegal will only give criminals another source of income.

It is so degrading when you are cooking up or tightening a belt around your arm and get asked to go outside.
    I feel like second class.

Ok maybe making it illegal is a bit over the top not that I would have a problem if they were illegal do. Just ban people from buying cigarettes then.

The reason was for climate change yes it might only be tiny but its still a part of it and yes diesel and petrol cars will have go eventually when there is electric or hydrogen cars affordable to everyone.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

How does smoking contribute to global warming?

Making smokes illegal will just add them to the black market which will make them unregulated and laced with god knows what. Anyone that's smoked a pack of black market cigarettes knows how theyre so much worse than ones you buy in the shop, they destroy your lungs in no time.

Smoking is declining also, not as many young people smoke now compared to 10 or 15 years ago and more older people are quitting compared to years ago too.

Keep in mind its an addiction like any other and should be treated as such, some people really find them impossible to quit.

Change 'ban' to 'tax' and that reads like Budget 2020.
