meh, think I'll wait for the 20,000 or so, that way won't miss them (or won't be able to).

Do however wonder what some of those indigenous tribes on the upper Amazon would think, even seeing a dozen of 'em in sequence streaking across the sky.

Probably delighted they'll finally be able to get broadband :pac:

Must look out for that tonight. What site are you using? I have the Heavens above app but it doesnt really say when a long train is coming through.

Also anyone know how long it takes these satellites to do a full orbit?

Just saw them overhead in Limerick, unreal. Looked like stars going in different directions really fast and the a line like a shooting star.

Edit: actually turns out it was a meteor shower.

Saw the train last night at 11pm. Lost count of them after 10 but would say there was at least 18 that I saw. Could see 4 or 5 pass overhead at any one time and they just kept coming and coming. Pretty incredible sight, I couldnt get over the sheer speed of them

Cheers, gonna head out now for another gander. Looks like they'll be coming over head to the right of Venus so should be easy enough to spot

    Is that West? Thanks.

yeah, more closer to north west than due west.

I think it was too bright, another 30 minutes and the sky would be a lot darker with better visibility

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,725 ✭✭✭tnegun

Same here I think the sky was too bright where they were supposed to appear saw on satellite pass directly overhead but that was it

  • Registered Users Posts: 11,533 ✭✭✭✭klose

Saw 3 of pass overheard in clonmel in South tipp, bit of a strain to see and there's still light on the horizon. Pretty cool I must say!
