Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Avoiding Notice of Motion

    Is there anything that can be done to a person that is avoiding accepting a notice of motion in a civil suit?

    I've tried sending it to his home address (Mother's house) presuming she is the person who sends it back saying no person under that name lives there or other relatives or himself.

    and I've also tried sending it his place of employment but then they send it to his home address (same place I send it to) but it came back to me saying he is not known at the address. The employer obviously knows where he lives giving that is the address he gave to his employer and so we both have the same home address for him.

    At this point I'm jut going to deliver it myself and maybe ask a Garda to accompany me since the defendant had previously said to me that their mother was psychotic

    What can I do about this?

    There are various ways of dealing with a situation where service is being evaded e.g. notice in a newspaper.
    Consult your solicitor re a court application allowing alternative/substituted service
    Leaving open for general discussion subject to forum rule on legal advice
