    Hello,
I am an American researcher currently finishing a manuscript on the history of animal rights in Ireland. I was wondering if any family members are out there who have any stories, photos, or news clippings they would like to share about their ancestors' animal rights work. I'm hoping to highlight the lives of activists who have not already been spotlighted in the history books..here are some in particular...

    -Jack McClelland (N. Ireland)
-Brian and Margaret Gunn-King (N. Ireland)
    -William Drummond
    -Charlotte Despard
    -James Haughton
-Richard White (emigrated to the US and married Caroline White; cofounded PSPCA)
-Moira Henry (active with several Dublin orgs)
    -Christopher Fettes (active with IVU)
    -Wilfried M. Capper
    -Eva Gore-Booth
    -Margaret Cousins

    Thanks!

There is a big difference between animal rights, PETA and the fringe elements of veganism. How about Richard Martin?
