Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Strettle puts his arm across first there, no? The follow up pull back was minimal imo.

Absolutely nothing compared to the trip he ignored earlier

Ospreys very good from 1 to 10 ...... Very poor from 11 to 15.

Nice try at the end mind .....

First time watching wasps this season, looking forward to 80mins of complaining about the fact Gaskell is a professional player whereas I have to go to work in the morning.

This group could finish up in reverse to the expected result.

Just found myself cheering for Wasps, then realised that we don't want them to be scoring BPs :D

I'm loving this. Wasps have always been my favourite english club side since the great Dallaglio days. It's great to see them making a resurgence.

    Plus I hate Toulon.

At this stage it doesn't matter. Toulon have lost. Leinster now need to target Toulon home and away. They can't afford not to. In theory if Leinster can win those games they could look to go through in second place.

Another team with a host of World Cup players struggling.

I'm a big fan of Wasps as well, they're a good side, but they've been made look very strong now by Leinster and Toulon. They may still get brought crashing back to ground by Bath in the double-header, who I think are a little better than them.

    Wasps
I didn't see the game today but their defence was impressive last week and sounds like it was good again today.

    Wasps
There should be a way that we can go through as winners.

    1. We win all remaining games obviously.
    2. Wasps and Bath share their games, no LBPs/TBPs.
    3. Toulon beat Wasps home and Bath home/away

    Total in brackets
    Leinster +16 (17)
    Wasps +4 (13)
    Bath +4 (8)
    Toulon +12 (12)

If Bath beat Wasps twice that also doesn't hurt us if they lose twice to Toulon.

In this situation Wasps/Bath can get an extra 3 BPs and finish behind us. Toulon can get 4 and finish on 16. Never lose faith lads!

Theres probably a way for us to propel the moon in to the sun for the craic too, but it's equally likely.

The world cup has just drained players mentally and physically it seems. Very hard to just shift your focus without a break.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 37,978 ✭✭✭✭irishbucsfan

I don't think it's unlikely at all that Bath and Wasps trade wins or that Toulon win their games.

The truly unlikely part is us winning all our remaining games. If we do manage to do that though we have a chance. However I'd much rather we focus on squad-building for the next 3-4 months and then make a push for a league win leading into a European challenge for next season.

The five Toulon starters who participated did very little to be tiring them. Lobbe and Habana maybe but they weren't the worst performers.

Yeah but it's what it does behind the scenes. A big disruption to the day-to-day goings on.

In everybody's face really. Those Pro12 matches that now have to be kicked down the road could be crucial for qualfication later on, although in fairness its a decent solution given the league games involved.

It's pretty much the ideal solution for ERCC. Which is perhaps the first time we've really seen the interests of Europe put first. I love that.

I meant in Bruce's face whereby he said that fixture cannot be played.

Best result all round, agree re prioritising European Cup games.

I fail to understand why people are so surprised/upset about this. Once mid week fixtures were ruled out there were always going to be league games postponed. These games have to be played before round 6 or the integrity of the group stages goes out the window.

So we have an extra weekend of European rugby on TV in January - bonus!

I think this was the only possible solution and am just surprised they took so long to announce it.

State of emergency still in effect in France, away fans not allowed travel to games , all it takes is one flashpoint over the next 4 weeks and all this rescheduling goes out the window

He's just got his second after a lovely cross field kick.

His first try the defenders took terrible options at tackling him.

Glasgow now have the TBP which I think they need badly.

Edit: and now he's got an intercept, the Lanelli guy pretty much threw the ball straight to him too!
