Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,

Can anyone tell me what Cluain Aoibhinn in Maynooth is like as an estate to live in?

I'm considering purchasing there, but don't know much about the area.

    TIA

Houses are quite old, quite poorly built and the area has historically had a large student population - although as with all the estates in Maynooth with that reputation, its reducing over time. Houses are big by modern standards.

Unless the house has been renovated you are looking at a decent bill for that - lots of large windows to double glaze, etc.

Nice enough estate, built in the late 70s/80s I think? mostly families and older people, but there are still a few that are student houses that might occasionally be noisy on a weekday night, but usually ok. I'd definitely check the neighbours either side to see if they're students/being rented though.

It is almost 15 years since I was in NUIM but back then it was a big student estate. Houses are big enough for the number of bedrooms IIRC. Close to the train and village also.

I think the estate has great value, I considered moving there for the 4th bedroom, however, if I ever need it I will convert the attic. The sums just didn't add up for me.
