Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I’m trying to fix an old tap from the early 80s on a small sink. The valve is unusual in that the plastic crown type handle has a nut press fitted into it that threads onto the valve stem. When the handle is turned clockwise the nut travels up the stem so that if the handle was fixed in position the stem is pushed downwards closing the valve. The tap was dripping a bit so I tried to tighten the handle but must have overdone it as it came off in my hand.The nut had popped out of the handle into the hollow inside so I epoxied it back in place and threaded the handle back onto the stem by turning it anti clockwise. Turning the handle anti clockwise causes the nut to thread onto the stem until the handle reaches the tap body and the valve is held fully open. It seems to me that it will only work to close the valve if something else is holding the handle in position as turning it clockwise just causes the nut and handle to travel back up the stem. Does anyone know how the handle is supposed to be held on? Thanks.
