Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Henderson is a strange case. Always does well on these Euro events, can't hit the board in UK events..

Anyone watching the german darts masters? Its on pdc.tv. if anyone wants a stream give me a pm.

cant see past mvg again, hopefully gurney has a good run

I watched some last night. My abiding memory even though I've seen him plenty of times is of Andrew Gilding nearly walking off the oche to throw a dart. They had to change the camera angle on the board because of him.

MvG won the German masters (obviously)

Fair play to Rob cross getting to the final. What a player he's turning out to be

Yeah I think so. In fairness it's a major, there shouldn't be reserved places for players. Everyone should have to qualify by right.

Id say you have your tournaments mixed up. This is just the top 8 PDC players. The Grand Slam has the BDO players in November.

Crazy how this exhibition event has 100k prize. More than most ranking events.

I keep repeating myself but there are far too many nothing tournaments on the PDC calandar. They need to scrap some of them and come up with some proper ranking tournaments.

This CL tournament really is having a tournament for the sake of it.

Ya I'd agree too. I'd prefer 5 or 6 week long majors a year than nothing darts every weekend. I do like the European tour events though.

They Euro tour events are decent. Plenty of games in short format and a chance to see players you wouldn't see otherwise.

The problem I see is that of 12 Euro tour events that bar Gibraltar the rest are in Germany (9) and Vienna (1) which is practically Germany anyway and Maastricht which you could say the same about as it's only across the border.

It's not much of a tour when they're always on in the same country. I'm sure a few other countries could host a couple of these Ireland being one of them.

Ya us possibly, the Dutch get screwed too. Not enough events for the biggest darting nation on the planet.

PDC seem very biased for Germany, young Max Hopp getting a real push from me Hearn even.

    Germany
    Spain
    Holland
    Austria
    Ireland
    Italy
    France

    That's a proper Euro tour

  • Moderators, Society & Culture Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,294 Mod ✭✭✭✭Kingp35

I do like the European tour events though.

The European Tour events are ranked tournaments where every player has a chance to qualify so they are proper tournaments and enjoyable ones.

I agree with gramar that they need to be spread around a few other countries though.

Yeah, players championship on for 2 days before the grand prix. Not open to public though. You need an invite from a player.

He wasn't at the races at all today.
You could see them have a quick word after it finished.
It looks like MvG was answering 'I don't know' most likely having been
asked by Barney why he played badly.

Mensur has had two very good wins and no-one will fancy him on that from.
I hope he goes all the way, Interesting character.

Only had a 5r on it lads. I've probably lost more than the 135 backing him over the last 2 years. Absolutely delighted for him! What a guy.

Apparently he himself decided not to be considered for this years PL, didn't sign the pre-contract that all the T16 are asked to sign in December. Felt it would be detrimental to his season (plenty of players have had mare seasons after a bad PL) and the travelling would mean he might actually lose money.
There was a good interview posted here at the time.

He said in around July that he didn't want to play in it, thinking he wouldn't ever get an invite. He isn't even playing in the German leg of the world series, the great max Hopp got the invite instead! Pdc don't like mensur, Not marketable.

Congrats to Mensur, it's a lot of money to win for him and I'm sure he will enjoy it. Outsider for the grand prix ???

That Phil Taylor interview after the semi final was a bit sickening and I understand now why he is disliked. He got a nice job from one of his good friends and he recommends Cardiff for a night out
