I'm sure many of you will recall Colin Lynch, who posted in the forum as "Paralympic Cyclist" ahead of the London Olympics

I've seen Colin a number of times, including on a few occasions when he's been training at Manchester Velodrome.

Colin had funding for the Rio Olympics, but unfortunately he's not being supported towards Tokyo. He explains in the link below how close he was to retaining funding, but I'm sure you will appreciate maintaining a high level of performance throughout an Olympic qualifying cycle while keeping enough back for the event itself is a challenge to the most able of athletes

Colin has opened up about the struggles of being labelled an inspiration, battles with depression and losing his sport funding. It's an honest an open read.

Additionally, he is trying to raise enough money to get to the Track World Championships and gain some valuable Tokyo 2020 qualification points and redeem himself.

I know he will appreciate any donations, however small, His funding page is at the following link

    Hi folks. Colin here...

It's a long shot (by me), but in the event that any of you can help in any way, I'd happily take it. No donation is too small.

I'm training well and currently preparing for the Track World Championships in March. If I can't get some sort of headway with funding by then, I'll probably have to pack it in, even if it goes well there. I can't manage a whole year of racing and training with no funding.

I'm happy to respond to any questions on here if you have any. And if you can help out, I'd be so very grateful.

    Many thanks...

    Colin Lynch

apologies if it was answered in the article - i haven't had time to read it yet - but do you find that corporate sponsors aren't interested?

Sometimes I get "sponsorship" from companies in the form of cheap deals on equipment, but no one willing to part with cash. "We're" just not high profile enough.

Just a quick update to say thanks to the forum members that donated. You know who you are and your help is appreciated!

Currently in Spain in training camp preparing for the Track World Championships in a few weeks. Not been an easy run - front fork on my rather expensive track bike was badly damaged in transport (thanks RyanAir) and I've had to train on an alternate bike which doesn't fit me.

However, one of the best carbon repair outfits in Ireland (https://www.facebook.com/carbontecire/) managed to bring it back to life - and it should be returned to me next week. Will have a few days training on my own bike before heading to Worlds. Not the best prep, but that's life.

In the meantime, if anyone else can spare a few £ or € - it would help greatly! Thanks for reading and I'll post up again soon.
