Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Adverts.ie gone to crap

    Anyone else of the opinion adverts is gone to crap?

    Almost impossible to sell anything without a load of hassle from people trying to offer less than half the asking price “including postage”.

    Any better options?

    Just ignore or put a minimum bid on your listing .. I will always put “low ball offers will be ignored “.

    Ebay is offering free listings at the moment. Adverts is still ok, just that it tends to be more for low end/ bargain stuff so expect hassle selling

    It’s been like that since it moved away from being a boards.ie forum. Back when it was a forum there were just fewer people online and people back then invested time into their online personas so you pretty much knew the person you were selling to. As more and more got online and essier to create throwaway accounts the lowball offers started in droves.

    No word of a lie, once was selling a €1000 bike on adverts, first comment was:

    “Swap for anything in my ads”

    Second: “it’s a ****ing bike, you idiot”

    Third: “swap for a 1999 Toyota Corolla bumper?”
