Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Probably time to forget about this thread now...

Nope. The warm weather for the start of the week did not materialise but all is not lost for toward the weekend. Still potentially some very nice weather to come.

Whats the craic with you Maq? You've turned into one of the most negative posters on here. For years you were great and I looked forward to your posts but now it just seems you can't wait to get an unpopular opinion in.

Nothing wrong with being realistic but it seems like you are going out of your way to upset the apple cart lately.

Looking at Met Eireann they were showing temps for Saturday of 12 degrees, not very warm

Indeed. Thicknesses of only around 540 dm, 850 temps around 0. The only good thing is that winds should be calm, so it will feel ok in any sunshine (but cold in the shade).

It will be a good bit milder in the west/northwest at the weekend. Temperatures there probably to 16 or 17c on current projections. More like low teens elsewhere but, fingers crossed, it should be mostly sunny.

The UKMO is a warmer prospect generally than the GFS and ECM though.

Average day. Nothing special. Annoyed that the 20c weather didn't materialised.

Where are people getting the idea that we are expecting a heatwave for the weekend with up to 26oC expected.?

Like most weather rumours, someone misunderstood something or they are just pulling it out of their arses.

The highest expected temperature over the weekend is actually 11c lower than that!

Well, I could repeat what I wrote but was snipped out the other day, but I won't. However, Irish don't define a heatwave by temperature, but rather by how sunny it is. Blue sky after the Equinox means a heatwave, apparently, regardless of temperature. I refer to it as flabulous weather...when the shirts come off and the cold air makes the flab go pink.

    Lol!

Indeed, today was a fabulous day with cloudless sunny skies - but in this part of the East coast the temp only reached 12C despite the warm sun; step into the shade and a chill wind was felt.

The temp is now 4C and we will likely have a frost tonight.

Below average temperatures - but glorious weather!
