Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Why do children hate learning Irish?

All the *adults* I've ever seen learning Irish absolutely love it. They get amazing pleasure from learning the language and using it.

So why does the same thing make children miserable?

Because its compulsory so its rebellion time.
Because the ppl who teach it are always strange.
Because its a dead and useless language.
Because its a waste of time that could be better spent.
Because money is wasted on this, eg TG4.

ok, i admit it, i dislike irish, and my time on the aran islands solidified this, those ppl need help, badly.

Well, does anyone enjoy having to learn something?
When I was in school I was sick of learning all that utter ****e that I didnt want to.
Its only now that Im finished that I've taken interest in anything that they tried to make me learn in school.
maybe I should have paid attention, cos I would be able to speak fluent gaeilge and french and german by now, anyway, too late now, fúck it smile.gif

Join in here if you must, but I won't have this board filling up with threads about schoolkids disliking Irish. There's far more potential topics of conversation, you know...
