Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I've watched the proms (especially the last night) for as long as I can remember. My dad is an opera fanatic so I suppose I had no choice really.
    Is it wrong for me as an Irish woman to watch and enjoy such British pomp?

    Some of the pieces are good in fairness. I look at it the same way as a lot of music from a few hundred years ago, or artistic works by Michaelangelo, da Vinci, etc. Sponsored by the church, who are *****, but nevertheless great art. You can enjoy it for what it is ... and ignore the context to an extent.

    But the obvious answer is ... you enjoy what you want, **** the rest.

    I watch it, I've given material and more support to the IRA in the 80s and 90s.

    Sure let them enjoy the occasion, it's their's.

    Nothing wrong with being who you are. I don't want to stop them being them, long as they let others be.
