Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Sorry for the delayed response - work has been hectic.

Firstly, thanks to Myksyk for all the hard work in keeping this thread alive and everyone else for posting to it! I love seeing the superb standard of photography on here.

And thanks for all the thanks!

I spotted this Buzzard (the only one I have seen in real life ever) whilst out walking Buddy in Malahide Demesne, north Dublin. It was very high in the sky and I only had a 70-200mm. As the sky was quite bright (and I had the camera in centre-weighted exposure), I had to bring the shadows up quite a bit in LR. I also added Clarity to bring out more detail. It is quite a crop but at least I had 36Mp to start with.

D810, Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 at 200mm, f/3.5, 1/6400, ISO 64. Had I had time I would have changed the metering to spot from centre-weighted and maybe even added some exposure adjustment.

However, the real limit was the 200mm maximum reach of the lens. I wish I had the 200-500mm with me :(
