They answer your phonecalls to telephone banking slightly quicker and give you a card that says "premier" on it. I dont think it costs any extra

Sounds a bit like a gimmick. What makes you eligible for it?

    Hi todders,

Thanks for contacting us here on Boards.

Our Premier Banking service provides you with a personal service central to your experience as our customer. We have qualified advisors available 24 hours a day 7 days per week and our Banking Team is available to assist you in managing your ongoing banking requirements, as well as ensuring you have access to Bank of Ireland Specialists such as our Wealth management services when required.

As johnnyskeleton mentions, our Premier customers receive a Premier Visa Debit card. One of the major advantages associated with this card and exclusive to our Premier Customers only, is the Emergency Cash facility. Should your card get lost or stolen while you're abroad, we can provide you with emergency cash at no extra charge. Also, if you find the current daily withdrawal limits are not suited to your needs, it's possible to request an increased limit.

As well as this, we will ensure your queries and applications are turned around quickly and we can speak with you over the phone 24/7. You can also speak with your dedicated Branch Premier Advisor who will meet with you in Branch or at a suitable location with a little notice. If you wish to speak with a Premier advisor, please call 1890 365 121 or you can request a call back at this link. For further information on Premier, please see here.

I hope the above info helps, please let us know if you need help with any other query.

    Thanks,
    Sarah

    Hi todders,

    Thanks for your post.

Premier Banking is available to Bank of Ireland personal customers over the age of 18 who meet the eligibility criteria.

The eligibility criteria for Premier Banking is reviewed regularly and it would be best to discuss this with one of our Premier Banking advisors.

As Alison mentioned we are happy to arrange a call back for you if you like or you can contact the Premier Team directly at: 1890 365 121.

You can also get more information or request a callback here.

    Thanks

    Nicola

The sole purpose of the bank is to exploit you to sell you 'products'. Staff are required to shift a certain quota of these products, irregardless of if you need them. Premier Banking is just the latest front in this brave new world of banking.

3 verified bank of Ireland representatives refusing to answer a simple reasonable question. A little disconcerting.

I would have thought it would be in their interests to share basic criteria publicly

What have they got to hide?

Think that's the point of any business...selling their product

BOI don't look after their customers too well, have yet to receive a decent answer here...what's the harm in asking for a little Transparency?

If you need to ask how to get into the club, youre not membership material!

Seriously though, Im guessing its a way for them to plamas their customers into thinkig theyre getting special service while they hike up banking fees (see the other thread)

    Hi todders,

Sorry to hear that you're unhappy with the level of information we can provide on Boards. As mentioned, we can arrange a call-back from one of our Premier Advisers who will be more than happy to discuss this with you.

Please also see our Boards Charter here which explains the extent of the queries we can help with on a public forum.

Regrettably we will not be able to add anything further to this thread however, if you have any other day to day banking queries, we will be more than happy to help.

    Thanks

    Billy

Billy, can you post the exact part of the charter that prevents you from answering a simple question?
