Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Replacing Wooden 1st Floor with concrete

    Hi all.

This may be a really stupid question as I've never heard of it being done. We moved into a new build home about 2 years ago. Lovely home and very warm however only issue is that you can hear every sound in the house from downstairs and upstairs. Is it possible or not cost effective to replace the first floor wooden floors with concrete or is there a better way to soundproof? We already have carpet and soundproof underlay but this does not help as much as would like.

The walls and foundations won't be strong enough for the weight of concrete as they'd be designed for the lighter timber.

Makes sense. Need to find a better way to soundproof so.

There are much easier ways to upgrade the sound proofing of intermediate floors. Look for "sound insulating floor system", and you should find some results.
