    Any tips for first time runners in the Marathon?

    Guess it's too late for advice now!

    So how did everyone do?

    2nd marathon myself & was delighted to just break the 3 barrier!
    Found it must easier my first marathon - down to preparation I guess

    Bad organisation at the start though? Took me over 2 minutes to reach to start line & then I had to battle through walkers & slow joggers :(

    I wasn't there but 2 minutes isn't that bad to get over the start line in a race of thousands of people. If you finished within 3 hours though I'll presume you made to be fairly near the front at the start - if that's the case then you shouldn't really have to contend with that many walkers - they should be encouraged to start nearer the back.
