Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

George Hamilton said it was the same guy who apparently did something similar in Morton Stadium in Santry.

They should lynch him as part of the closing ceremony. Absolutely disgraceful.

    From Ireland.com:
Marathon leader pushed off road by protester
    Last updated: 29-08-04, 18:01

The athlete leading the Olympic marathon lost his lead in the race after being pushed from the course by a protester. Vanderlei de Lima of Brazil was pushed off the road by a lone protester while he was with only minutes left to go.

The protester was arrested and taken to a police station. There were no details of his name or nationality.

After being pushed into the crowd, De Lima got away from the protestor and rejoined the race, holding his leg, with around 15 minutes to run. He soon lost the lead to Italian Stefano Baldini. Baldini won the race and De Lima took bronze.

"The man has been arrested and is now being taken to the police station," a police spokeswoman said. "More information will be available later."

The spectator, dressed in a kilt with some writing on his back, resembled the Irishman who interrupted the British Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone last year.

Cornelius Horan ran on to the main Hangar Straight in that race as cars approached at speeds in excess of 240kph. He was sentenced to two months imprisonment for his action.

More here - looks like it was the same guy:

He's done it at the Olympics, the Special Olympics, the British Grand Prix and made an attempt at the Epsom Derby. He is sick and needs help.

That would have made the ceremony worth watching.
