Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Spotted an increase of 20% odd on food when going out for lunch yesterday.

    2 queries of the reader.

    1. Is yours increasing it.
    2. Do you recall them reducing it when the rate was put at 9%

For me, I didn't spot a decrease prior. Are they all doing this?

And that's about €1 more of an increase than the additional VAT.

Is this business saying it is purely down to VAT?

There are plenty of other reasons for a business to increase prices. They would be daft to bill it as purely VAT related.

Minimum wage went up recently, rent and rates on the up etc.

They've been going up for at least 3 years now and no increases happened. Yes you can argue to do 1 big increase rather than 3-4 small ones but still its a kick in the balls. Eating out is and was already overpriced in Ireland.

Prices didn't drop when other stuff did.
