http://www.irishtimes.com/news/politics/landlords-could-raise-rents-to-guard-against-controls-report-1.2402301 New report rules out rent control as a solution to the current housing issues.Its interesting the government never wants to help private landlords but needs them as they themselves dont want to provide housing.

News to me. When I've heard this discussed previously it wasn't specific to social housing. You live and learn.

Economics 101 if you want to increase activity in an area reduce taxes to encourage development. Tax it to reduce activity. Says it all really. The gov need to reenact the Section ** that they did for years. Money will flow into those sectors.
