Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Folks,
I need to get an aerial for Saorview. We're 52 Kms from Maghera (the Saorview recommended TX for my location).
My question is around the proposedl frequency changes. When will these come into effect? Should I get a wideband aerial or hold off and get one suited to the new lower channel numbers?

    Thanks

Think the changes could still be nearly a year away. I'd just get a 'T' group, which is the current wideband type. (Up to channel 60.)

I have one of these I'm holding on to, in case my current group C/D isn't up to the job whenever the changes take place.

The new frequencies will be switched on Sept 4th next, there will be a 6 month simulcast period where the old and new frequencies operate together to allow people make the necessary aerial adjustments. Final switchoff of the old frequencies will be March 4th, 2020.

I would suggest a Group B aerial, this will cover the new frequency range and the existing frequencies and when mobile services are switched on in the 700MHz band the effective gain of the aerial falls away before it reaches mobile base stations downlink frequency range (UHF57 upwards). Current Group T wideband aerials, up to UHF 60, will overlap with the future mobile base station downlink frequency range.
