As for rules etc the will be drawn up soon and placed for all to view.

Here, here. Just about to start a thread about that very question before i scrolled through this one. Are there actually any N64 ROM sites? Do they exist are are they, as DOS said, simply awash with broken links?

Like it says. Don't ask for Rom requests. These sites just come and go especially the platstaion and N64. THere are very few reliable ones. u'll have to go through 100's of broken links to find a good one.

BTW its good to see an emulator board again. Ah the memories of a misspent youth.

Like the man said...N64 rom sites aren't liekly to stay up too long. If you don't mind doing a bit of browsing, I know a good place to get them,

If your looking for roms ( N64 etc ) then try using file sharing software like winmx or morpeus.

Few points to bear in mind.

It is illegal to download any ROM and keep for more than 24 hours if you do not legally own the original copy.

Actually, this 24 hour thing is entirely untrue. It is illegal to download any ROM if you do not legally own an original copy.

Most companies will turn a blind eye to the download and distribution of ROMs for very old systems, as these come under the heading of AbandonWare. Anything up to the SNES and Mega Drive count as Abandonware, and pretty much anything up as far as 1995 on the PC.

Playstation, Dreamcast, N64 and Saturn games are NOT Abandonware. Downloading them counts as piracy, and I've seen web boards shut down for dealing in games for these systems. Nintendo in particular are actually prepared to chase up N64 ROM distributors with legal letters and general nastiness.

Nintendo are VERY shirty about GBA ROMs. SNK would be shirty about Neo Geo Pocket ROMs if they weren't currently in limbo, and it's fair to describe NGPC ROMs as abandonware in Europe - although very much a grey area.

I hope nobody here is stupid enough to even think about asking about "emulation/warez" for PC, PS2, GC or Xbox titles...

This is the dodgiest board on the whole system from a pure legal standpoint, but as long as you guys stick to talking about abandonware, nobody is going to bother you.
