Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    I read a little about this in the papers today, I'm sure it's welcome news if you are fortunate enough to have a non-criminal government, unlike ours of course, with their double (and the rest) taxation of new cars. How/why are they allowed to get away with this, since it is clearly in breach of EU law?

    What will these new rules mean for the Irish car buyers?

    If prices do go down thats all well and good but what about people that bought a car for the older, higher price? Surely they won't be able to get as much for it at resale seeing as the initial price is now less. If anything they should work to reduce fuc|<ing insurance!

    That aint gonna happen in Ireland,well if anything ull have English folk crossing the channel to get cheaper cars!

    That VTR tax or wotever its called wont be abolished!sure then,like already said ull have everyone who bought a car before it moaning.

    Best thing to do would be to tackle the insurance,bloody day lght robbery!
