Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello lads.
The dipped headlights on the passenger side of my 04 crv stopped working yesterday.
    Full beams work grand.
I replaced the bulb but no joy.
Im getting 12v at the connector block that pushes onto the lugs on the lamp but cant get the light to work.
I sprayed the connector with contact cleaner but can only get the full headlights to work.
    The drivers side is grand.
    Any ideas?

If its not the feed it muct be the earth that is faulty.
Check the earthing and trace the wire back.
I don't know about the CRV but many Japanese vehicles are switched through the earth not the positive feed.

Here's a wiring diagram I found for a US model.
What are the chances of the Irish model being the same?

Probably very similar, check the black wire for continuity.

Very good advice from the user above. If the red/yellow wire has 12 V on it, you need to take a multmeter and check between a good vehicle ground, (referably battery negative) and the black wire going to the connector..with the bulb plugged in. If you have any voltage reading above 150 mv, you need to check your earth connection to the chassis.

Couldn't do much with the rain yesterday, but I had another go today with the multimeter.
I found I had 12v on full beams and dims and a good earth connection. It wasnt making sense.
I bought another bulb and hey presto,it worked.
Turned out the lamp I bought yesterday was a dud.

    FFS.
    Thanks for advice lads.

Yes it happens, rare but you can get duds, always the simplest fix to try another bulb.
