Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Tonight!
    The trio attempt to prove that the hot hatchbacks of their youth were better than their modern equivalents with Clarkson in a Volkswagen Golf GTI, Daily Mirror motoring expert Hammond in a Vauxhall Nova SRi and May in a Ford Fiesta XR2i.

    Always liked these episodes. Usually a laugh.

    Will be interesting to see the comparisons with the old v's new, I'd think the new will leave them all for dead with speed and much better handling.

    I'm sure it won't be a simple old versus new. It will surely have a silly twist to make a competition of it and also of course to ensure Clarkson is victorious.

    Well, it's simple. The GTI was the best of the bunch above and I'd stuggle to choose between a 205 or a VW if I had to pick. The Nova was a shed and the Ford is going to be more rust than car at this stage.
