Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question or not (mods, feel free to move if required), but nonetheless...

I have the death certificate of a child who died in 1928, and am trying to locate where it was that he was buried (infant brother of my grandmother she never knew). Would there be any records that could be help me with this / how would I go about it?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

My only advice is, look in the cemetery where your grandmother's parents are buried. Failing that look at neighbouring cemeteries or the closest one to where the family home was. If you can not find a headstone or there was no inscription, try asking the local church of where your great grandparents where buried and hopefully they will have burial records.

I do not believe there is any other way.

I found death records of my g.g.g.g.g grandparents and g.g.g.g granduncles in a death record index from an old church in Clonmel recently. There was a headstone but only some inscriptions.

Yes there is if you live in any of these counties or have ancestors there (probably not knowing your location) http://www.irish-world.com/gravestones/

Or here. It's not complete, not every graveyard is on it, but the names are listed alphabetically and you might just be lucky!

With an exact date of death, I think you will find cemetery staff very helpful to check their records. Even if placed in an 'angels plot' a record of the burial will have been made.
