I find quite hard to use this feature as it only allows images. Most of my bills (electricity, broadband, gas) and receipts are pdf format.
Is it really necessary to upload them or can I just submit my income tax return with health and wfh relief claims and then if they need the receipts send them by email as pdfs all together?

I convert my PDF receipts to jpeg with the app linked below. It's free but windows 10 only

If you don't/can't submit legible receipts, you have to keep them for 7 years, I think, in case of audit.

I find it funny how they can't/won't accept a PDF file but want a JPEG

Usually its the other way around for submitting a file

Open the bill and use the snip tool to cut the part you want, that saves as jpeg and upload - obviously this is from a laptop, not the app.
