    My relative Robert Hewson died on 21st June 1849 ; source Glasnevin Cemetery records.

    His son also Robert was born in April 1850 ; source St Paul's Arran Quay baptismal records. (c/o fingal)

    I am just wondering (given 10 months between dates) if Robert(b.1850) could truely be the son of Robert (d. 1849). He is recorded on the baptismal records as the father.

    If he is not the son then my whole Hewson family tree is a lie, as the son (b.1850) is my great grandfather.

    Maybe I will never know.

    Completely possible. People were wrong all the time with dates then. Transcription errors could also play a part here. And sometimes babies are overdue. Check out the physical records to see the actual dates if you want to verify the bits you can.
