Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Condensation proof dog bed

Our dog (a lab) seems to radiate enough heat to power an esb station. This leads to condensation under his bed. His bed is a large orthopedic mattress like the one in the link below.

On the tiles I don't mind, but we just laid new laminate flooring and I really don't want the condensation for his bed messing it up. (He sleeps in our room).

Does anyone have any innovative solutions? Not allowing him to sleep in our room isn't an option.

Cody had 3 of those exact beds scattered around the house .. not quiet the same thing but when he was so ill (just before he passed away) and was sooo fatigued that sometime he would wet himself and sleep through it ... so to stop any wetting etc .. I got a packet of puppy training pads.. trixie brand I think.. unzipped the cover placed one on top of the mattress and zipped it back up again.. then also placed another on top under the blanket to stop it both ways ... helped massively x

You may only need one inside on top of the mattress x

For me I swapped them if / when needed for your dog maybe swap once a week 😋

Otherwise place the bed on a small strip of carpet.. or mat etc.. you won’t see any condensation x

I would think you have 2 options

Getting a cooling mat for the bed like this Zellar Pet Cooling Mat, Pet Dog Cat Cool Mat Self Cooling, Large, 50 x 90 cm https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0717B4X21/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_b5lRDbKSVBPYM

Or getting a bed like this to let the air circulate Bunty Elevated Sided Dog Bed Portable Waterproof Outdoor Raised Camping Pet Basket - Large https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B071VW28BP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_tai_G9lRDb36N67RE

Would a cooling mat under his existing bed work? Coffee hasn't kicked in yet!

I use a raised bed for my dog as it allows the air circulate underneath and have given up on other types of beds.

I used this website for mine and went for a mesh cover.

As a topper for winter i use a vet bed from zooplus on top as they are easy to wash and cheap to replace.

Aldi/lidl do pretty much the same beds at a fraction of the cost from time to time.

You can get a special mattress underlay for beds in camper vans, boats etc. Would something like that be any use to you? Just cut it to size.
