Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Classic insurance requirements

I know this has probably been done enough times already but I couldn’t really find any info that I needed.

I have a 1991 Honda CR-X that I would like to insure eventually under classic insurance. Do you actually have to be 25 years old to get insurance or is there any companies that will under 25? I’m 21 with 3 years NCB with a clean licence.

Also if it was under someone else’s name and had their own classic policy would my current insurance cover the car TPFT? I’m fully comp with liberty and can’t find anything about classic car coverage.

I put my son on all my classics but the first two questions AXA asked me was his age and if he had his own daily driver in his own name. Their minimum age for this at the time was 25 and he had to have his own daily driver policy for a minimum of 5 years. I don't know if this is still the case

Anyone have any recommendations to price around with?

Have to renew my fathers policy and he’s being quoted €500 by Axa with two of us on it.

How long ago was this? It’s honestly stupid that you have to be 25 to insure a classic, I can understand something like being 21. Feels like they pull the requirements out of their behind.

It’s always been 25. I had a long wait to 25 to get on my fathers policy. And now all too quickly long passed 25

That’s a serious letdown. Ah well the CR-X has been parked up the past 14 years what’s another 4 gonna do? Haha

That was 6 years ago and he is still on the policy. I imagine that the insurance industry have a good reason for the 25 age thing.
