Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Eye test for learner permit/provisional licence question

I'm in the process of getting my learner permit and I noticed that the eye test can be done by a Medical Practitioner or Optometrist whose name is on the General Register of Medical Practitioners or on the Register of Optometrists in Ireland.

Is it cheaper to go to an optician or your GP for this exam??

Hi. The only way you’ll know is by ringing a few optomotrists to get quotes and then simply ring your GP to get a quote from him.
    There’s no fixed amount.

Specsavers etc use to do weekly specials and I'm nearly sure it was €15 to €30.... It's that long I can't recall.

If you are getting medical say at gp and they can do it then go for it but if just an eye test that could cost you €50-65

Sounds like it's worth asking around then, thank you. :)
