Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Transitioning to new Job

Hi all. I have a family member on the Covid weekly PUP. Her previous employer is shut down but is due to reopen Tuesday, she had handed in her notice two weeks ago however as she has secured a new job. She has always been paid weekly in her old job.

She is starting this new job on Tuesday that is paid monthly, so she won’t be paid until Christmas week. She doesn’t have and saving and is going to be really caught in the meantime. Is there any instrument under SW or the PUP to help with this transition? She is completely freaking out about it as she has commitments that must be met in the meantime, rent etc. Her husband is in low paid work as well and they don’t have much.

If it comes to it we can help her out but I just wanted to know if there is something in place to help manage this type of issue.

No. If she was previously on the dole she can ask the community welfare officer for some help but in either case whatever payment she is on she he's to get it stopped by the day she starts working.
