Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As per the title, could anyone explain why you can only check in for a US flight with Aer Lingus from 24 hours before the flight but up to 30 days before for European flights? Is this down to a security issue or something?

As far as I can see it's 30 Hours for EU flights and 24 Hours for U.S.

Priority passengers can check in 30 DAYS in advance for certain routes.

    From Aerlingus website

    https://www.aerlingus.com/travel-information/check-in-options/online/#/tab-0-check-in-times-and-availability

"You can check in online within 30 days of your departure date on all routes within Europe."

"You can check in online within 24 hours of your scheduled departure time on all routes to and from North America."

    I read that here: https://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Aer_Lingus/checkin.php

Give them a call if you want to triple check?

It's no big deal, just wondering was there a specific reason. Given it's a flight to the states, there's a bit more in terms of other paperwork and I'd just like to have everything done and printed off well in advance.

It's a security measure . You don't need to print off anything - all you need is your Passport which is linked to your visa or ESTA - whichever is applicable.

You didn't quote the next sentence which says that you have to pay for a seat. Free check in with free seat allocation is available 30 hours before the flight.
