Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dead pixel or dirt?

    Hey guys,

I've noticed these pink dots (see attached) on my images recently. I'm shooting on a Canon 5d mkIII.

Just wondering if anyone has ever had anything like this before?

Wondering if it's a dead pixel, hoping it's dirt.

    Thanks.

    Don’t think it’s dust...

i would guess dirt or dust would block light getting to the sensor, rather than causing a spike.

Looks like a problem with the image sensor or the connections to it.
You could try cleaning the sensor, but it doesn't look hopeful.
Maybe it's something translucent on the sensor causing a prism effect, most of which gets directed away from the sensor.
If it only happens with one lens, maybe it's a defect in a lens.
    Good luck with it!

How many actual pixels is it taking up?

It looks like a block of Red pixels are hot (turned on all the time) It could be a sensor or software fault. An authorised repair centre could analyse it.
