Does anyone know if there is a committee or body that permission and consent must be saught from before implementing a non-exclusionary timeout or physical restraint on an individual with developmental disabilities?

It's not being done I'm just looking for it in relation to a research study. I have found some best practice guildines within Ireland but cannot seem to pinpoint a specific board.

    Thank you for any help.

I'm pretty sure there is no such body. Services rely on best practice guidelines in relation to control and restraint. Some psychiatrists (in ID services) now want seclusion practices to fall under the Mental Health Act 2001 and may not sanction detention in these settings which falls outside the remit of that Act.
