Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

While not the cheapest prices I’ve ever seen, MS Office 365 Home edition (5 PCs/Macs, 1 year) is reduced in a few places.

    Argos.ie - €57.99 with McAfee
Amazon.de - €48.99 (activation code by email), €52 (by post including postage)
    Amazon.fr - €49.99 (activation code by email)

Will these prices hold in year 2+++

Also... if giving free Cloud access...what happens your file if you fail to renew???

Amazon Germany tell me it's not available in Ireland, and try to direct me to the UK store. Any way around this?

Anyone know if you can stack these licenses?

On Amazon UK now for £49.99. Works out at around €57 so not really any cheaper than Argos.

This is an Amazon deal of the day today at £52.99, but it says its uk only. Is that correct or can the downloaded code be used in Ireland?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 568 ✭✭✭rgodard80a

    www . software4students . ie sells discounted Microsoft/other software.

I see a 4 year Microsoft Office University license for €79.
Many, many years ago I bought Windows 7 licenses from them.
Just put in a random secondary school at the time.

Just in case you can't stack the 5 1 year licenses.

You can buy this also using your unused Three credits from buygamecredit.com. 69 euro for a 365 personal.

Change your default address to a UK one and buy it. It's how I did it before.

If your employer has a lot of office licences they may be part of a scheme where you can buy it for 13.99

Waste of €5 tbh, would have been better to just download it for free. Those Professional Plus keys will eventually get blocked.

Ebay is the way to go IMO... now on my 3rd year of renewals. Always get deals for below 25€/yr. Bought 2 x 1yr codes last time and they do stack (got 2 years before expiry). I do it just for the 1TB OneDrive cloud space, cheapest you can find and no file size limit (can upload a blu-ray movie if u want)

have been using this for years and its brilliant... but yeah, a member of the family needs to be working for a multinational to get it.

This only offers Office 2016 to me ... does it sometimes offer Office 365 too? It's the One Drive space more than anything I'd be interested in!

I think it recognises if you are eligible from your work email address that you enter. It didn't ask me for a code.

If I get the Amazon UK code does this kick in and stop my monthly sub.

Well, accidently purchased a 1 year sub on Amazon UK and clicked the link in the email. Once I logged into my account the sub was updated to expire next year after my current month.

    Happy days, thanks OP.
£52.99 is still much better than the €120 a year I was paying and the €99 annual sub.

Deal of the Day on Amazon UK today. £49.99 which was the same during the Black Friday sale when I renewed mine.

They also increased the user number earlier this year to 6 users (yourself + 5).

Don't apply the code until your current sub expires.
I have a few months left on my current sub and when I applied the code on Black Friday it was expiring on only 12 months. The codes are not stackable on top of a current sub.
I was on to Microsoft to confirm this and was told to wait until the current codes expires and apply it then. The code itself does not expires until it's used.

Get the digital download. Set your address to a UK address such as Parcel Motel. All you are looking for is the key which Amazon will provide. Then go and register on Office 365 or whatever the link is.

    https://m.argos.ie/static/Product/partNumber/8837505/Trail/searchtext%3EOffice+365.htm

Also now I think it's 6 users with the primary user getting 2TB of cloud storage.

Yes, you just ad the product key on your online account. Should push out the date by 12 months.

I would assume its the same thing you buy from MS. I usually buy similar to these when they are £50 on Amazon. I have them stacked also so I'm licensed until November 2020.

I pay a tenner a month from my phone credit for this. 6 accounts with 1TB storage each.

you know the way as per other bargain alerts, use TOR or a vpn, and logon to argentina or turkey you can get youtube premium for about €2 a month and netflix for about €6 a month

I renewed my onedrive account with microsoft in argentina last month. €37 euro for a year. 1 terabyte of storage. You get full microsoft office download with it. The full pack.

I used tor, go to this link, have to sign up in spanish, if you change the site below to english, it gives you the dollar price of 69.99

What is wrong with product keys from the likes of eBay?

I have 365 via work, but I know on the Lenovo thread, lots of people were championing the eBay route?

Am I missing something obvious? Asking as I was intending on getting one for my parents laptop.

My understanding is that the ebay keys are volume licensing. So you are dependent on whoever owns the volume license renewing or you could lose it.

In my case I get 6 licenses for about €50 a year or €4 a month. Members of my family are using the licenses so its a small price to pay to keep it legit. I'd have a pain in my arse if any of the licenses expired. I was paying Dropbox €10 a month so this works out much cheaper and includes genuine MS Office licenses.

Makes a lot of sense when you put it like that, I'm guessing if you had a lot of data saved to the ms cloud, and the license wasn't renewed, you're at risk of losing it all.

Even if you never use Office, Office 365 is great value just for OneDrive. 1TB cloud storage for 6 people for €100 is great value. Even better if you can get it cheaper.

I believe the main account holder now gets 2TB while the other 5 accounts get 1TB.

For anyone using Microsoft 365 from work, it may not work much longer across other Windows accounts on the PC, at least from my experience. I have a separate Windows logon for my workplace and since installing Office 365 (now Microsoft 365) a few years back, I have been able to use Word, Excel, etc. from my personal Windows log on account.

As of a few days ago, when I launch Word on my own Windows account, it started displaying a notice to confirm my account. If I click Next, it says that this account does not have Office and gives the option to buy a subscription. When I close this, Word says it hasn't been activated and that on Friday, 31 July 2020, most features of Word will be disabled. On my Workplace Windows account, everything appears fine in Word, Excel, etc. even under File -> Account.

So when Amazon, Argos, etc. started this deal a few days ago, it looks like Microsoft is trying to entice those affected on to a subscription for personal use before they soon look for alternatives.
