Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Washing precious teddy

    Hi, my teen has a precious teddy that has not been washed since she got it :eek:

    It says surface wash only, which I rarely have luck with it. The Mumbles label also says 100% polyester fibre and contains pre bagged inner pellets.

    I can't risk damaging it. Could this go wrong in the washing machine? What setting? Would i put it in a pillow case?

    Any thoughts welcome!

    Maybe it's particularly manky otherwise, does it really need washing? Isn't all the grime just years of being cherished?

    A gentle hand wash in the sink with tepid water? Maybe a capful of detol laundry detergent?

    Don’t put it in the washing machine! Depending on the toy, it could likely become waterlogged and then you’ll know what manky really is! Or worse again damaged.

    Get some appropriate cleaning agent and scrub the hell out of the surface.

    Would dry cleaning be the way to go?

    Put in tumble dryer with a few damp face cloths. (I do this with curtains too and it brings them up a treat). Dampen cloths in water with a dash of fabric softener. Don’t have them dripping wet.
