Genuine Sennheiser CX 300 II

It's very hard to get those earphones that wouldn't be fakes. You can easly buy them cheaper than the price I found on Amazon, but I wouldn't trust the others sellers. Amazon sells them currently at £17.99 (and if you order for at least £25 it's with free shipping), so I'd consider this as a bargain. MyMemory price is £22 + £2.

Yes, but the seller is not Amazon in this case, and this company has only 56 feedback count. I don't mind to buy other things from various sellers, but Sennheiser or Creative hedaphones. Too many fakes around

Those 400s are not directly from Amazon, so personally I would be a little wary - a third party is involved.

I've a pair of the cx300's and they are very good -and well worth the price.

But if I may add: if you don't mind the colour, these are far better earphones for cheaper:

very tempting to go for those cx300's. Is it an L shape jack on those by any chance?

I go through head phones far too quickly , they always go where the cable meets the jack after about 3 months or so. Likely from having the player in my pocket.

Talking about headphones, few months back I got SoundMagic PL30. The sound is great, though I didn't like having to wear wires over the ears. If you don't mind that, have a look - $23.50 at FocalPrice:

Cant beat sennheiser for quality and price. Be wary though, if these are the noise cancelling ones, they really do cancel outside noise, so not the best for using while crossing busy streets etc. Still though, immense bass from these.

I got the 400's reduced to €17 in Tesco Tullamore last week they were reduced, the sports ones with the band around the neck are reduced as well by over half price.

These are 10 times better than the muddy cx300s.

Another good pair to try for very cheap are the alpha brainwavz from www.mp4nation.net - they're only $10 and sound way better than cx 300s and are super comfy!

Googled and found this review - http://www.overclock.net/hi-fi-gear/891813-review-brainwavz-proalpha-iem-earphones.html - sounds good, site offers free delivery aswell so I went for them. $10.. cant really go wrong there, although it says thats the pre-sale price and they're in stock from 5th April. It's now the 7th and I still only got charged $10. Grand.

That review is for the proalpha ones - not the 10$ ones. Bit of a difference in quality I would assume too.

Does everyone really like those type of earphones? The suction cup type ones? I've never known anyone who used them and didn't get serious ear infections and hearing problems for about an hour or two after using them. Not specifically these headphones just the 'in ear' ones...

I use them once or twice a week when hoovering the house - my excuse to block out the noise from the kids and have some time to listen to music on the blackberry - nothing too advanced:D

You should buy a soldering iron instead of your next pair of headphones. Repairing a broken jack is really a simple 5 minute job

Got a pair of these two years ago from same,and they are still going strong,even after daily use.Great sound to boot.

What is actually the difference between the various iterations of the CX-300?

Two years ago I got the only type that was available, the CX-300 (iirc). I leave in fear of the day that they expire and want to be prepared with a replacement on hand but now I see CX300II, CX300II Eco, and CX300 precision.

What should I get to replace my vanilla CX300s?

I had cx-300IIs for over a year, replaced them with soundmagic pl-30s when the jack was wearing out. I wouldn't go back to the sennheisers.

White ones are £17.53 now, a few pence cheaper than black.

I bought the black - got them today, they're pretty good.
Having said that I've never spent over a euro/pound on inner-ear headphones before.

cx 300 ii 'eco' headphones are 15+2 delivery from hmv. So less than 20euro. Hmv is an authorised dealer too. Bought some last week. Got some px 200 ii from amazon, but not the market place, which id be weary o.

Luzern tech are selling the old model px 200 for 40 euro too.
