Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi,
    I've created this thread as a general Christmas thread where I'll share grocery offers that I notice of things that you may need for the festive period.
    I know this may clash with other threads but this is more of a general one.

    At the moment

    Quality Street and Celebration are 2 for €8 in Lidl.
    Quality Street is €3.99 in Aldi.
    Other places seem to be 2 for €10, etc.

    All boxes of crisps are €4 in Supervalu.

    Luxury crackers are buy one get one free at Aldi on Thursday priced at €9.99.

    Do you think the sweets and crisps will get cheaper at another stage before xmas?

    yes, there is a big thread just on the tubs of chocolates, similar happens each year so you can predict it. Also useful to spot the spoofers who will swear blind they bought 10kg tins for 5cent last year. You can also see if they were freak offers, like some years they were extremely cheap but no real stock.

    I know last year I was getting 3 tubs for €10 in tesco and €10 off €50 vouchers were doing the rounds. There were loads of these in stock but it only lasted a few days, but I think came and went at least twice.

    I seen tubs of sweets/Box of tayto in Dunnes in Cavan 2 weeks ago at €4 and then in ashbourne dunnes they were €5 last monday so keep an eye out.

    Take for instance of boxes of Crisps or tins of biscuits go on offer at Centra their is no real thread to put them in apart from the Centra thread and not everybody follows that.
    Apart from my 48 hour offers thread about Supervalu I don't think there's another one.
    People will still share in other threads but this is sort of everything grocery under one roof thread for those who don't want multiple threads on the go.

    Well done fresh, keep it up. I'd rather have too many bargain threads than missing out on them. This time of year bargains can last for one or two days and then be gone. I think this thread will be popular and easier to follow.

    Thanks freshpopcorn for posting so many different bargains, but I think this thread will get to big overtime. We have a dedicated sweet tubs thread which is part of the furniture now and works very well, but other items cover such a wide range of items. Likewise with the Booze thread.

    If Centra have a particular offer, it can be posted in a new thread with a clear title. It doesn't need to be posted in an existing Centra thread. This means even if not subscribed, one glance on the forum will see the title description, and you know straight away if you want the bargain or not.

    For the above reasons I think its best to close this thread, but appreciate you were doing it for the right reasons.
