Being Kildare based has to be Kathleen Conolly - wife of Speaker Conolly. She commissioned Conolly's folly to provide work for locals during the famine. She also commissioned the Wonderful Barn. Any southside Dubs here might know the Bottle Tower in Churchtown which is a poor imitation of the Wonderful Barn.

Damien Rice is the most famous person i can think of.

He brought Renée Zellweger back one time. That was mad.

Didnt meet her or anything but goss like that travels fast.

Not necessarily a person but The Commitments was shot around Coolock and its definitely a point of Irish Culture worth mentioning and it was successful across the pond!

Me. I emigrated to Dublin from the Midlands at the tender age of 24 to struggle in the office slums whilst barely generating enough income for crumbs (and pints) in an measly 2 bed apartment with seperate kitchen and sitting room. Times were tough back then and you had to turn on an immersion for water AND remember to turn it off.
