Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Overpaid in work

    Hi
basically I was paid for 60 hours work instead of 37.5
I had one day holiday so I was paid 30 hours normal time but I was paid another 30 hours holiday pay ( 4 days ) instad of 7.5 ( 1 day ) so I paid tax on 60 hours total instead of 37.5 ( big difference in payslip tax wise ), thinking It would be found out down the road when was taking more holidays I told them there an than. They said they would just pay me for 2 days this week instead of 5 and that's how they will get the 3 days back. I said fine but what about the tax will I get reinburst for that and was told I'd be paying no tax as I already paid it. But low and behold got pay slip today and I was taxed on 15 hours. Is there anything I can / should do or say ? Or is this just a life lesson of never tell work when you were overpaid :) ( ps nothing was in writing of what they were doing it was all verbal if that makes a difference ) thank you for any help

Are you on a week 1 basis? If so, you wont get a refund of overpaid tax until you move to cumulative or after mid Jan when you can requeat a P21 online from revenue.

Hi, yes I'm on a cumulative. Would revenue know I was paid too much and that's why Ive only been paid 2 days instead of 5 this week. Thanks

If you’re paying tax on a cumulative basis everything should be right.

Taking last week and this week together you got paid for 75 hours (67.5 hours that you worked, and 7.5 hours of holidays) and you got taxed on 75 hours.

I don’t understand what you think the problem is? If you add up the 2 weeks’ take home pay, does it not equal 2 normal (37.5 hour) weeks’ take home pay?
