Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Listened to the new DJ Shadow yesterday. First thoughts were the instrumental half was quite meh, not much of interest. The second half, with the MC's was much better. Some serious names there. I'll have to give it some more spins, but you got Nas, Pharaoe, INS, Ghost, Rae, De La, RTJ, Pusha T and others on tracks.

The instrumental disk, although it being Shadows bread and butter, it sounds a little unnecessary. Maybe it's just me growing further apart from instrumental music. Like Blockhead released a new album last week, I would normally have his albums on repeat when released, but I don't think i've even added it to me Spotify queue yet.

In saying that, the first disk is quite nice in places. I'll see how the rappy one goes.

Ah ffs Dre don’t be sullying your reputation with that gob****e :(

It would be interesting to hear what comes out of it.

Two brilliant producers but Dre must be on mega bucks to work with West. Serious brain injury and mental health issues going on there. But who knows, maybe the Doc can bring out the old Kanye.

I don't know man, Dre beats behind whatever fanatical evangelist nonsense West is on at the moment doesn't sound too appealing to me. Dre needs gangsta lyrics to go with his stuff, not praise da lawd nonsense.

If you ignore the lyrics on Jesus Is King, the production on it is incredible.

Dre is also that sonic perfectionist and everything is crisp. So 2 different styles of beat making combined, both being ultra clear, you never know what could happen.

New Action Bronson produced by Alchemist out today. I've got through a few tracks, seems to be a throwback to Bronson's old style. I'm liking it so far, while not hearing anything spectacular.

Very odd choice alright. Not sure what the message is but The Game is mad so who knows :P

The Griselda album is coming on Friday as well.

I really like Action Bronsons new one. Alchemists production is evolving nicely, he's climbing my top producers lists at the moment with his latest efforts.

I think it's that the pregnant women will give birth in the studio and they'll come out rapping....of course with enough booze and weed to fuel the newborn session

Really sad we’ve lost another young artist. I initially got into him when he released Legends, a song dedicated to Lil Peep and Xxxtentacion.

“What’s the 27 club? We ain’t making it passed 21.”

He only turned 21 on Monday. RIP Juice x

Huge back catalogue as well. If you like him, you'll like a rapper called Ka.
They have a bunch of songs together as well

Best new artist of the last few years.

Was only just gone 21. Real shame he had a few great albums to come.

    Death Race was great.

So what do ye all think of the "Born 2 Rap" album?
I'm listening to it now halfway into it, enjoying it so far, but like most rappers, it's a far way off from his first or second albums.
Listened through.. not great at all. I was expecting better from the game. Carmen electra was good & I thought it was gonna kick on from there, but it didn't, for me anyway.

He was never my cup of tea, but gave the album a chance. Couldn't really get into it.

  • Bandana & One Of The Best Yet were among my favorites this year

Biggest Disappointment was YG - 4 Real 4 Real

Sleeper hit / Underrated was CMW - Gangsta Bizzness

I've not listened to enough of Born 2 Rap to decide, some very good tracks on it but also filler tracks which I don't like.
Wish this one had more focus like Documentary 2.
