Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I enjoyed Hooligan a lot - I thought the pre-MMA chapters were pretty mindblowing to be honest, I feel like I've had a very sheltered life having read them.

Once we're into the MMA days - I think he's very honest about everything, without getting into dirt slinging though it's clear that there are a few fractured relationships in what was once quite a tightknit group of coaches and training partners.

Lot of respect for the man before and after reading the book. I hope it does very well for him.

He did a very good interview on ireland am this morning. Although it was too short they didn’t ask much about his political future.

Specific family stuff, poverty, extremely serious health matters, domestic violence, being present at some horrific events, seeing violence up north - that sort of stuff. If you're from the boring suburbs like myself, it puts your life at the same time into perspective.

Well, well, well, well, well!!! But I thought the baby was the spitting image of Conor and the double of Conor Jr? But, but, but, the photographs of him with his hand on the girls leg, it had to be his? Sure why else would she put all those accusations on social media? Why would she come to Dublin to track him down?

I love the insistence from some people that their 'opinion' is 100% correct stone cold indisputable fact. Whatever other unsavoury behavior he has engaged in, at least for him being labeled as an illegitimate father (in this instance) is no longer one of them!

Women can't get pregnant if someone puts a hand on their leg.

That's not been my experience - it just increases the liklihood of your child looking markedly unlike the father. At least that's how it's gone for me and my several childer.

What was she thinking acting like she was 100% certain is was Conors, made a proper fool of herself now. 'don't want his money' she said, well now its obvious what she was after.

Looks like somebody just lost their meal ticket.

In fairness to anyone with a mammalian brain and an ounce of common sense it was always obvious exactly what she was thinking and what she was after, even if in today's climate its taboo to voice the truth publicly. It also speaks volumes about her that she doesn't even know who the father is, but then again we are not allowed to say that either without the thought police hurling accusations of "misogyny" and "sexism" (which apparently are now synonymous and interchangeable). Although most of her supporters will go quiet, im sure there will be more than a few zealots still defending her.

Given his personal, professional and financial situation he was an utter plank (I'm being diplomatic) to even give someone like that the time of day, let alone put himself in such a compromising position. I sincerely hope he grows the f*ck up and soon.

Has anyone noticed McGregor hasn't given any support to Paddy's book? I would have thought he'd give him a retweet or a shout out. Evidently not!

Lots of 'Influencers' on Instagram seem to be always jetting around the world and none of them appear to have a job. Usually the case is that they have a rich sugar daddy who is paying for them to travel around the world, in return for some lovin of course :D

Looks like she took a photo in the lobby of the “Pretty Woman” hotel (the irony).
Doubt she’s staying there given the dodgy Hollywood motel in the previous photo.

Paddy Holohan's latest podcast worth a watch/listen even if you're not a supporter:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9UHO6-wYs3U

One of Paddy's heroes or mentors; Gerry Adams. Gave me new insight into both of them, their politics and origins of Paddy's activism. Never saw Adams in such a relaxed interview scenario - in full on mythologising/story-telling mode, but he worked it well!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

I'll have to listen to it fully. Paddy strikes me as someone that's not really that into politics or the rule of law. Just thinks hand back the six counties and it'll be grand.
I take it Gerry still hasn't admitted to being in the IRA?

Ha! Correct on the first, and well it wasn't exactly a hard hitting interview, rather a bit of a chat, so Gerry was not pressed on the second. :D

V light, but that different angle made it interesting to me. I like how you get to know more about the person when they're relaxed and chatting, the human side. Adams is 71 now, looking good for it, and super sharp still.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,760 ✭✭✭Effects

Gerry is very charismatic. I know people who have met him, and been in awe of him, and only afterwards remembered he's responsible for countless deaths and missing bodies.

Yes, unbelievably charming. Almost seductive how he sells it. Worth watching in action IMO.
I've heard the horror stories of his rages too (all third hand).

Politics is a broad term. He says he doesn't see himself as a politician. But technically, he obviously is.
He's much more concerned with local and social issues. Rather than national government issues.

Paddy's intentions when it comes to "politics" is what people are actually supposed to do once elected, to improve the lives of his constituents.

Sounds like most politicians to be honest. He'll probably get derailed soon enough.

Non-politics Gerry is very odd, his twitter has some surreal stuff on it, especially when it's about creme eggs

It's in after hours or current affairs. Or probably both, with the usual dopes commenting about their dislike of MMA and anything remotely to do with it.

I forgot what this forum gets like when McGregor is fighting

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,649 ✭✭✭Whelo79

It can be painful alright but thankfully it's nowhere near as bad as some of his previous fights.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,577 ✭✭✭spix

Wtf is up with Conor pretending to be religious all of a sudden. Usually posts a long breakdown after his fight on social media, this time all he could muster is 2 religious emojis. Kept saying god forbid/god willing in interviews before the fight. Its almost like hes turning into khabib, Inshallah8o1PxOD.png

Damn straight. We need to really focus on the issues that actually make a difference to the lives of the ordinary person.

Sure it's well known that the state has abandoned the underprivileged men of his constituency to their fates of being seduced and blackmailed by roaming hordes of underage girls.

    Keep fighting the power Paddy!

Anyone see any reliable sources to the story Robert Whittaker is donating bone marrow to his daughter?
I saw a screenshot from Facebook of his father saying it's not true, with two laughing faces after it. From listening to Dana it sounds like something serious, which would make his father laughing a bit strange.
