    Silverfish. They are nocturnal and you can be guaranteed there are quite a few more lurking in the kitchen.

    Have a Google to see how to get rid of them, if you wish.

    I don't really think so. I think they like damp conditions. They only seem to be around at certain times of the year.

    They can cause damage to food in cupboards, clothing, wallpaper and books.
