Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    seems dearer for us, also seems to be a cost per day X number of days; i.e. 2 weeks double one. looking at 800 for a small car for a fortnight in Italy..

    Hey highpath, we're considering a last minute booking for Piani di clodia in late summer. Seems a bit smaller and more relaxed than Bella which suits us more with smaller kids. Would you recommend it? Lack of food options wouldn't deter us as Lazise seems reasonably close.

    Booked norcenni in the end..the layout seems to be well spread out? Booked though human company- can't beat them I find.

    Hi, we've been to Piani di clodia the last 2 summers and can't recommend it enough. Perfect for smaller kids. 2 large onsite restaurants (Marco Aurelio restaurant is great). Free bus from the site every 20 minutes into Lazise (its only 5 minutes away). Maxi caravans lake are the best accommodations, we stayed in diamond lake both years and this has a rooftop area with loungers.

    We've also been to Bella Italia 5 times and while the area outside that campsite is nicer (lovely walk to Peschieria), onsite Piani di clodia is far superior and more chilled. You'd have no problem getting sun loungers by the pools at any time of the day.

    Also thinking of gardaland at night as looks to be warm. might book that ahead of time.

    We stayed in Peschiera Del Garda and did a one day train to Venice and two to Verona (one for the evening Opera in the outdoor Arena and a day tour around Verona)

    It was years ago so I can't remember the details but it's doable.

    The Train station is a bit out of the village and the opposite end to Bella Italia and part of the walk was through a dark poorly lit area but I didn't feel unsafe

    It’s a very straightforward train journey to Venice, book in advance online if you can as we didn’t and the tickets on the day were very expensive. The train takes you straight into the city and the view when you walk out of the train station is just fab with the Grand Canal right in front of you. You can take a water taxi from there to the centre, Marks Square etc or just wander the streets. If you have small children though it’s not buggy friendly at all.


    We did Gardaland both by day and evening and the evening is much quieter and a lot cooler. I would head to the most popular rides after entering and ideally be there for the opening of the evening session. Try and pre book a taxi for afterwards though if you don’t have your own transport as the bus left us off near the train station and it’s a 25/30 minute walk from there back to the campsite.


    Love Lake Garda and Bella Italia, had some great holidays there.

    The free bus to Gardaland leaves from the train station. The area around the train station seemed fine when we were there.

    Gardaland at night is a great choice, it is much too warm during the day. The evening ticket is great value. Still plenty of queues!

    any recommendations for somewhere the standard of Union Lido. Family have come back from third summer break there and looking at prices next year it's getting pricy. It always has been expensive (for us) but it checks all the boxes…

    close to airport

    bus from airport to the site

    everything on site

    beach

    pools with good slides

    loads of restuarants

    We have also stayed in Alto Mincio and Park Albatross and while very good in themselves, it's hard to go back after been to Union Lido.

    Anyone any advice on what else is out there and their eperience of it from an Irish perspective. Willing to rent a car to get from airport and also by a beach is not critical. Also doesn't have to neccessarily need to be in Italy

    Delfin Verde , Costa Brava , northern Spain is great. Easy transfer from Girona Airport.

    It’s huge with a water park on site; right on the beach too
