Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

lol I'm sure that McGregor will reward you in the next life for being "his guy" who has his back on boards

Just find it hilarious that this tulip sees himself as some sort of "statesman adviser" to the government in relation to matters of Covid over the last few months

I'll try not act too devastated when he doesn't.

I just find it funny that you're stretching this much trying to relate that tweet back to him punching the oul lad.

I tend to ignore anyone who's not a medical professional when it comes to medical matters or advice, it's a good system.

come on, it's directly relevant - guy who is infamous for going on multi-day coke benders and punching people when they are not looking in pubs advising the government to re-open the pubs during a Covid pandemic and going on about being responsible in pubs :pac:

I miss seeing Conor fight and at this stage I'd make do with another choppy CCTV scrap. Reopen the pubs!

    "Responsible citizens do"

Unfortunately for Sir Conor of the clan McGregor, irresponsible citizens make us unsafe. And its those idiots, and there are plenty of them, who will ruin it for the rest of us.

He will never fight in the UFC again. Absolute tool. Sooner he is removed from all UFC rankings and discussions the better for all other genuine fighters.

A bit harsh deleting all that? I dunno where else to post it on the forum. It's definitely relevant to the MMA community here though.

EDIT: Ok, Fair enough. I understand.

Ended up down a wikipedia journey last night and stumbled across the page for Joe Son. Fairly horrific.

If anyone recalls watching UFC 3, this was the event where Royce Gracie submitted Kimo Leopoldo in the first tournament round, but was too injured to make it out for his second fight. Kimo then stormed the octagon with Son, who was his then coach in celebration of this. Son himself was an MMA fighter that retired with a poor 0-4 record.

He was also an actor and you might remember him from Austin Powers as Random Task.

In 2008, he was convicted of vandalism and part of his sentence involved submitting a DNA sample. Said sample linked him to a gang rape in 1990, for which he got 17 years. In prison, he beat his cellmate to death and got a further 27 years.

Mad how I've seen this guy on screen in two different ways and had no idea how awful a person he was.

    Fight Pass should have them?

I don't have FP but assume they must have all the old events up (They should have the Pride and WEC events too).

I get the impression he is more talking about a fella who is responsible for distribution of the stream (the host) rather than just one Joe Bloggs who plans to watch it by himself.

Imagine settling in to watch the fight with your few beers, big bag of peanuts, kids gone to bed and all of a sudden the police smash down your door and drag you away :D

Gina Carano fired from The Mandalorian for comparing public criticism of her paranoid "political views" to the persecution the Jews went through in Nazi Germany.

On one hand, you shouldn't be able to fire someone just because they support the other team. On the other hand, it's not the smartest move to be trivialising what Jewish people went through by comparing it to the fact that she doesn't like wearing a mask.

You also shouldn't be peddling conspiracy theories (Qanon) with deep roots in Anti-Semitism in an industry where a lot of the people who do the hiring and firing are Jewish. Not very smart!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,228 ✭✭✭Chairman Meow

Shes been posting awful **** for a long time now tho. This last post comparing Republicans to 1930s era Jews was just the last straw.

She fell ass backwards into an acting gig on the biggest streaming show on the planet despite being a pretty terrible actress. I literally said this to my wife when season 2 of The Mandalorian came out, that she has basically won the lottery landing this role and if she isn't careful she's going to get fired. She works for Disney and despite their own history of antisemitism from Walt, she posted some **** that her employers found offensive, and she lost her job. Its as simple as that. I guarantee if i had a large social media following and i started posting anti-gay memes or comparing the plight of the left handed trying to use a can opener to the Jews in 1930s Germany, my employers would fire me so fast my head would spin, because I'm poorly representing my firm. Carano will whine about persecution and censorship but at the end of the day, when you're a star like she is, you represent your employers at Disney 24/7, and everything you put out in the public spehere via social media reflects on them. They didn't like what she said, so they canned her ass. Simple as that. Its not censorship, its not cancel culture, its you acting like a ****ing clown and -oh look!- the consequences of your actions have arrived.

Just to play devil's advocate here. People call Trump and the geebags that follow him Nazi's all the time. We also have phrases like Grammar Nazis. She's an anti-masker comparing people wearing masks to the Nazis. If it had been the other way around, there would be no outcry.

I don't think this has anything to do with her opinions. She was fired because of the sheer amount of controversy around her affecting the Disney brand and the bottom line. She could probably be a full on Nazi and Disney wouldn't care if it didn't cause any controversy. Look at the shít Disney pulled with John Boyega on the Star Wars posters in China while tweeting about racial equality.

For the record, I actually don't have a problem with anti-maskers in general. If you don't like wearing them, don't think they work, fair enough. But if you're required to wear them in a shop or bus or whatever, then just wear them. Same way a shop might require you to wear shoes or a t-shirt or remove a motorbike helmet. The ones that go nuts and get aggresive/violent over it are a shower of bastárds though. The Qanon crowd are on a whole other level and from what little I've seen she seems to have gone pretty far down that rabbit hole.

She was due to get her own spin off show as well. She won the lotto with The Mandalorian. The spin off show would have been the Euromillions. It probably would have been a big enough show so the money she would have made from that probably would have set her up for life and probably led to other roles. Apparently she was warned before to dial it down. Crazy to throw all that away. I can her struggling to get acting work now.

Gina was harassed and bullied for months by trolls, just for putting "boop beep" in her twitter bio. Bots were used to bombard her with thousands of vile messages daily.

That kind of harassment campaign is going to have an impact on anyone's mental health. There's no question she has been behaving strangely but I see her as a victim of woke bullying.

That's the thing, she's a Qanon supporter. She has tweeted things about it before. She's claiming to be persecuted like the Jews, whilst perpetuating the very same conspiracies and paranoia that led to the Jews being persecuted.

Exactly. Just like Armie Hammer recently being given the boot for his text messages saying he wants to eat human flesh or whatever......... PR is what decides whether you work in Hollywood or not.

And if you're going around saying you want to eat people like Armie Hammer, or spreading lies saying that others like Hilary Clinton, Anderson Cooper and anyone else who you don't agree with are literally drinking the blood of babies, like Gina Carano has with Qanon, then don't be surprised if Disney don't want you in their TV show.

    Wait.........

So Gina Carano has conservative views and shares them on instagram. She believes there should be only two genders and regular convervative stuff. But she also believes in Qanon and shares stuff about it. Because of this, there was a backlash from left wing people on social media.

What you're saying is.......... she only believes this stuff BECAUSE OF the backlash she received for believing this stuff? That the "bullying" affected her mental health and now she believes those things?

Did she send Arnie & Michael Biehn back in time to plant those ideas after the backlash or something?

Her social media posting was normal prior to the bullying campaign.

She became increasingly right-wing and anti-SJW after the bullying campaign.

She received hundreds of vile messages on a daily basis. If you think that will not affect someones mental health - and therefore their behaviour - then you are delusional.

Thought you were talking about Sam Rockwell here. For some reason I thought his character's name in Iron Man was Armie Hammer, not Justin Hammer. Had to google who he was. Jesus, some weird, crazy shít there.

If she wasn't posting right wing stuff, why were people sending her vile messages? I don't follow.
