Just recently I've noticed our fridge which is roughly 3 months old has started to buzz/hum slightly. On occasion it will stop and is silent, but usually starts up again. Is this normal or something weve possibly done to cause it?

Anyone any idea what the story could be? It's an indesit and is still under warranty.

that type of noise usually comes from the cabinet being somewhat uneven on the floor, it needs to be steady on the floor , if it persists pull it out and press on the condenser and see if the noise disappears

Does it have a power boost function? Ours makes more noise when this comes on when the fridge detects an increase in temperature, say after doing a big shop

No it doesn’t but the the heat exchange is causing the extra vibration after loading it , again pull it out and place your hand over the condenser and press on it until you eliminate the noise

Il have a look but dont think it does have a power boost function. The fridge is actually on the empty side at the minute and is still doing it and is definitely louder the last week or so.

It's not ear shattering noise but while it's in warranty I would prefer get it sorted before it gets worse.

Also its placed in a kitchen made cabinet type thing so is screwed in place. Cant see why it would suddenly be uneven.

Op just wondering why you would look for advice and then dismiss it. Call out charges are applicable if it is deemed there is bad installation even though under warranty.
